Let's Futterwacken!

ree

Happy April Fools' Day!!! Let's dance the futterwacken and celebrate this festival of fools. Whether practical jokes are your thing or not, we bet April 1st annually hoodwinks you - ain't it great! All jokes aside, we hope you've got some fun planned for the weekend as we continue ringing in the spring season with April showers and Easter on the horizon.

Does your family have any April Fools' traditions? Honestly, ours doesn't. Maybe we should though. It'd be fun to celebrate the day with foolish comedy and entertaining nonsense. So we've come up with a few possible traditions to try out this year.

  1. Play games (on or with each other)

  2. Watch foolish/nonsensical things like Alice in Wonderland, Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Office, and/or Monty Python and the Holy Grail, etc.

  3. Read books with rainy or jester vibes like Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, A Midsummer's Night Dream by William Shakespeare, Heartless by Marissa Meyer, The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware, or Mr. Bliss by J.R.R. Tolkien.

  4. Listen to on-the-nose tunes like Fool's Gold by One Direction, Fools Rush In by Elvis Presley, and Ocean Front Property by George Strait; not to mention Topsy Turvy from Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame animated movie.

Some of these we've personally seen or read before, and can recommend, but some are new (to us) books or movies that we've added to our lists and think could round off your April Fools' Day plans this year. As for the whole of April? We might have to get into those reviews and recommendations another time; does an "April Favorites" post sound fun? Let us know what you want to see next and what y'all end up doing over the weekend, especially in regards to the holiday. Until next time!
